How much can I contribute to my Traditional or Roth IRA?

You can contribute up to $5,500 if you're under the age of 50 and $6,500 if you're over the age of 50 in 2017. It's important to remember that the limit applies across all your accounts, so if you have more than one account, or accounts at more than one institution, the total amount you contribute to all your accounts has to remain within the limit.

There are some other contribution rules depending on your tax filing status and income. You can find more information on IRA contribution limits on the IRS website.
